UCC will be highlighting our green credentials in China next week following UCC’s recent esteemed award of the UI Greenmetric, for the second consecutive year.
A delegation led by Professor Paul Ross, Head of College of Science Engineering and Food Science, including Professor Yrjo Roos, Professor Paul McSweeney and Dr Jian Huang and Emma Connolly, International Office will be introducing Alumni and Chinese partner Universities to Alan Kelly, the Irish Minister for Environment over St Patrick’s Day.
Minister Alan Kelly, himself a UCC alumni, will have the opportunity to witness the scope and depth of UCC’s relationship with Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU). The Chinese Ministry of Education recently approved joint programmes between UCC and BTBU in Food Science and Risk & Actuarial Science.
The UCC delegation will also visit Shanxi University, where collaboration has commenced in Ecological and Environmental Biology.
Professor Ross will deliver a seminar at one of China’s most prestigious universities, Peking University, on his own research to Professors and students in the School of Life Sciences and discussing potential for collaboration with the newly established School of Agriculture
Professor Paul Ross and Emma Connolly, will also visit Dalian University of Technology to further explore opportunities for the College of Science Engineering and Food Science.
