The Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards are currently showcasing the best in Irish engineering projects. This is the second year of the awards ceremony following the successful inaugural awards in 2010. Online voting will decide the winning project and today is your last chance to vote!! We think the Mizen Head Footbridge is a strong contender. The footbridge has been in existence since 1909. In 2007 the original infrastructure was removed and replaced with a new bridge with minimal disruption to the local environment and it looks great! The Project Team was largely comprised of graduates of the Department of Civil Engineering, University College Cork. So please support this project and vote by clicking on this webpage. It’s so wonderful to see the great work that UCC graduates are carrying out!
