UCC’s first ever Artisan Food Summer School will be held in Cork on 3 – 9 July 2011. This Programme is aimed primarily at food lovers from around the world.
Do you love eating good food? Do you want to explore the cosmopolitan food culture of Cork in the beautiful landscape of the southwest of Ireland? Do you want to meet with passionate farmers and artisanal food producers turning the best produce into the finest foods enjoyed locally and winning awards around the world? Do you want to enjoy a week in Ireland that combines your love of food with exploring the Irish culture and landscape? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then join us on UCC’s Artisan Food Summer School to explore the farms, kitchens and dining rooms of Ireland’s Food Capital. As Anthony Bourdain in the TV Show ‘No Reservations’ concluded on his culinary tour of Ireland: “More than most of the places in Ireland, County Cork has a particular reputation for good food.” Come and discover Ireland’s Food Capital for yourself.
During the Summer School, tour Cork city’s English Market, and dine at its Farm Gate restaurant. Explore the scenic landscape of West Cork, ‘a place apart’ and meet the pioneering men and women of its rich artisanal food scene. Here is a Discover Ireland video to ‘whet your appetite’!
