Did you know that the recently-crowned Miss UN Europe Sam Long is a UCC undergraduate law student? She has deferred her law degree for one year. On her return from the contest in Jamaica last month, Sam gave an interview to Cork Student News.
As Sam explained: “The United Nation Pageant System was founded to reward “real women” for their dedication to their community and charity work – a competition where contestants’ inner beauty outweighed everything else. That whole concept just attracted me from the outset.”
“Some of the organisations I have supported/worked with are The Children’s Ark Unit in the Regional Hospital, Limerick, Aware, Temple St. Children’s Hospital, the D15 Charity, Barnardos and the Baby Max Wings of Love Fund.”
She added: “The one thing that I do each and every day without fail is answer and send e-mails with regards upcoming charitable events. I try to update my facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/missunireland) as much as possible.”
