Surfers delight at new wave in Ireland

The Irish, British and South African surfers who ventured out on the new wave for the first time on Monday refuse to disclose its location…and after waiting five years for the right conditions to surf it, who can blame them. All we can say is that ‘Prowler’ breaks on an undersea reef about 2km off the west coast. The right conditions came as a result of the massive swell generated by Hurricane Tomas produced intensely heavy, tubing waves with 12-15m (40-50ft) faces.
